About Us

Amplifying Girls’ Voices Through Digital Arts is an initiative founded in June 2021, implemented by Intwasa Arts Festival in partnership with Plan International Zimbabwe and funded by Plan International Finland office. The project seeks to increase the quantity and reach of independent, reliable and data driven information in the public sphere, focusing on content production and consumption by young women, youth and communities on SRHR and eradicating SGBV.

The project is a girl driven initiative consisting of thirty-two (32) girls between the ages 14 and 21 from the city of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and uses digital media in the form of podcasts, short films and an online magazine to address issues affecting young women and girls.

The project through workshops & community screenings seeks to improve the lives of young girls by providing quality, reliable and timely information on SRHR and the laws that protect them against SGBV and ideas on how to avoid or survive abuse. The project beneficiaries are the drivers of the project and create content that is authentic as they tell their unfiltered stories. It has also provided them with film-making, acting, writing, researching, presenting, public speaking skills while also creating entrepreneurship opportunities for girls in society
